Moonlite Review

Moonlite Review

One thing I always strive to do is provide a range of books for my children. Over the years they have brought so much happiness to us. They have been moments of quality time. Time when they climb upon your lap and together you share a wonderful story and their imaginations are ignited. Children's books are my weakness actually and I am forever buying new ones for my children to enjoy.

Without fail I read to them before bed. Its a lovely end to the day. A time to relax and enjoy some down time. Throughout the day I am forever being handed books to read by the boys and they have contributed superbly to their speech development.

Over the years Neve in particular has been exposed to so many different stories. Drawn in by their illustrations and today she writes some of the most fantastic stories. That is down to not only the experiences shes had in life but the amount of times shes got lost in a book and been hooked in by the story lines.

We have used them endlessly in our play set ups too:
We're Going on A Bear Hunt

Moonlite Review

We were recently asked if we would like to receive a Moonlite device and some story reels to try out. The concept was really quite exciting and something I couldn't wait to receive and share with the children. As I said above we love story time together but this was something that could make it a little different.

It arrived pretty quickly and the cute little reels took me back to my childhood. Do you remember the red device we had as children? You would look through the binocular type device towards the light and scroll through a range of pictures, pulling down a black leaver. I still have mine and it has actually prompted me to sort it out as Neve in particular would love it!

Here is another collection of books we have covered in our play set ups:

I was over the moon to receive the range of stories that we did.
The reels are made of strong plastic and slide inside the Moonlite Device easily. There are a set of instructions to follow and within 5 minutes - I had downloaded the app needed, made an account and had added my unique code to get access to the story. We started off with The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Moonlite Review

The pictures that project up onto the wall are very clear. You can adjust the clarity by rotating the wheel on the front. I found that depending on how far you were looking to project the image a quick tweek would be needed.

The colours are vibrant and really did bring magic to the bedtime story. The app plays soothing music and displays the text to read. Neve was able to read along to the story and certain words have a bubble around them meaning you can click them as you read for additional sound effects. For example when he was munching his way through the leaf, clicking the word played a crunching noise.

The children loved these additional features and would look at one another excitedly.

We have also used books to help with our understanding of Cultural Events and History -

The device itself clips onto your phone and the torch shines through the device which projects it up onto the wall/surface in front of you. The slides rotate round with a simple click.

We really enjoyed using the device. It has really brought some fun and magic to the bedtime stories. Neve has decided that it should be our Friday night treat now - which sounds good to me!

All of the Moonlite titles are illustrated with bright, fun colours and were designed to put a smile on your child’s face. Moonlite has remade some classics that kids will love!
