Have you started Christmas crafting yet in your homes and settings? I reluctantly put ours up this weekend. I'm not in the festive spirit at all at the moment. Its been such a busy year and I can't quite believe its only a few short weeks before the big day! Its all flown by!
Today I am sharing with you a lovely Paper Christmas Tree.
Gather your different coloured craft papers. You may have a selection of papers stashed in the scrap paper that would work well for this activity? Once you have the papers you need you can set about tracing the template patters on your craft papers using a pencil.
The templates included in the download are as follows - a small strip, a star, 1 square, 8 round shapes in two different sizes and a semi arch.
Once the templates are all drawn out, cut them out using scissors.
Take your arch shape and create accordion folds, lengthwise. Try to keep your folds in proportion to each other and small.
Fold over the strip at the top once you have gathered the paper (see above), cover one side in glue to secure them down. Your Christmas Tree is now coming together. Once the glue has dried its time for the fun part - adding all the pretty things.
You can use the circles we have included in our free printable that you can download at the bottom of the page or you can seek the craft stash and use glitter, buttons or what ever else you may have.
Why not make a selection of them using a range of materials?
If you are looking to do this activity with younger children - pop a variety of materials out and let them choose as they wish.
Lets take a look at the supplies you will need to do this craft:
Coloured craft papers
Pencil or pen – for tracing
Scissors
Craft glue or glue stick
