Today's craft is all about bats. Using our free printable you will be able to create your very own super cute bats. Whether you are looking at nocturnal animals, your children have a genuine interest in bats or you want a little something to tie in with an occasion such as Halloween - this activity is great fun and is easy enough to create for even the youngest of children.
You will need:
Craft Paper/Card - Black, White and Pink
Pencil/Pen
Scissors
Glue
The Templates (you can download them for free below)
You will need to start by printing out our free printable. It is available to download at the bottom of this post (keep scrolling down to find it). Once you have your print out - cut out the shapes. You will need to start tracing the templates you have on the craft papers.
Create the fangs on white paper, trace the curved shape and inner ears on pink paper and the rest of the templates will need to be created using the black paper. There is an option of using one of three shapes to create your bats body - a square, circle or a triangle. Which one is your favourite?
Start off by creating the body of your bat, using the desired shape.
Glue together the two parts of the ears and add them to your bats head. Add your eyes, the mouth and the white fangs.
Your final step is to add the wings and in just a few quick and easy steps the bats are finished. How super cute do they look?
Add them to a paper straw to make bat puppets. You could grab a torch and use them to create flying bat puppet shows. Pop them on card fronts to make cards, or add them to a collage.
Make them to go along with your child's favourite stories, interests. They would be a fun craft if you are looking at nocturnal animals, if you spot them whilst out on a night time walk or even Halloween. They are so easy to create too.
