I am yet to come across a child who isn't fascinated by planes and helicopters. My boys are obsessed with them. We have to stop the moment we hear one and stand still looking up, until it's spotted and gone by. Today I am sharing with you a fabulous way to ignite a child's imagination and extend their play set ups by creating your very own run way for your planes.
I am over the moon to have Sue Baxter joining us today. Sue has shared so many wonderful ideas and set ups with us over the last 12 months. She has been super quiet on here as of late as she has been setting up her very own Preschool Centre.
Sue is a fabulous supporter of enabling environments and always has projects under way that link in with a child's current interests. She thinks outside the box and recycles materials to make the setting the children play - magical and fun!
Sue shared this activity with us in our play group over on Learning and Exploring Through Play Group (make sure you click and join - its a fab group to be apart of with so many ideas be shared each day). I absolutely love it! Lets take a closer look at this set up in action and explore how this runway was made.....
Lets take a look at this set up in action:
Sue created the run way by recycling one panel of white glittered effect plastic wall cladding. She added some low energy Christmas lights using a Bradle and Hammer. The plastic punched through easily as its like corrugated plastic.
Browse a fabulous collection of Aeroplanes to add to your play set ups on Amazon here.
The plane used in this set up was brought from a Charity Shop but was originally from Sainsburys.
In a few quick and easy steps Sue has created a toy that will ignite the imagination of the children in her care. She supports the child's interests which shows they are heard and their interests matter.
I think its fabulous and I would like to say a special thank you to Sue for sharing with us this lovely idea. Its lovely to have you back!
