Over the last few months, the twins have been crazy on anything on wheels. Helicopters, cars, trains and not forgetting their favourite - tractors. They all tick boxes for them and they spend hours and hours playing with them.
I was over the moon when we were asked to review a truck from Tonka Toys. A brand based in America and founded in 1945. This isn't the first item I have owned by Tonka Toys and I was very pleased to see that the Cement Mixer that is the focus of today's review continues to be of fabulous quality, with lots of attentions to detail.

Tonka Power Movers feature revolutionary Motion Drive Technology which means that the Toy reacts how you play with it. By pushing the vehicle forward the noise of a revving engine is activated. Push it backwards and it beeps just like a real truck.
You no longer have to push a button to get the sound effect you want as the toy reacts automatically. You can spin the cement barrel to hear hydraulic sounds and see the lights flash. The features are activated by the child’s interaction with the vehicle. It creates an engaging and realistic play experience.
There are 4 vehicles in this collection. There is a Dump Truck, a Cement Mixer, a Front Loader and a Bull Dozer. For an ultimate construction site, you could go on to collect all of them! They retail at a RRP of £19.99.
The parcel arrived bright and early one morning. I opened the packaging. The twins were watching me and as I pulled it from the wrapping they both shouted "WOW". I honestly couldn't get it free from the packaging quick enough. They were both excited to get their hands onto it
Its a very sturdy vehicle, with lots of realistic attentions to detail. I particularly like how the lights work. The beeping as the the cement mixer is pulled back appears to be a feature the boys are enjoying as they imitate it as they play.
Concentration comes into play when the children have to rotate the wheel to spin the mixer round. Exercising the fine motor skills and control to achieve the results desired.
The twins have enjoyed taking the vehicle out into the garden and whizzing up and down the patio with it. It has also been on many outings with us as they have not wanted to part with it leaving home and getting into the car. That's when I know they have really taken to a toy.
They are certainly lots of fun and they would make a fabulous gift for a vehicle lover. I think Santa may be bringing more of the collection our way in a couple of months time.
Lets take a look at the Tonka Truck Cement Mixer in Action:
The range was recently awarded GOLD in the 2018 Practical pre-school awards, and its clear to see why.
It has been a pleasure to review this product. Thank you to Tonka Toys for making another great set of toys available to aid the imagination and enjoyment of our children.
For the purpose of this review - we were sent a Tonka Trucks Cement Mixer (as pictured above). All opinions and thoughts are my own.
