Bottle Ghost Craft

Bottle Ghost Craft Halloween Crafts for Preschoolers

As October is on the horizon, your thoughts may have turned to fun Halloween themed crafts and activities you can set up for the children.

Today I am sharing with you a craft that you can do with the children for fun, or a little something you could set up as part of a quirky party treat.

You will need:

Small Water Bottles
Gauze - UK/US
Glue Stick
Black Paper/Card - UK/US
Scissors
Plastic Spiders - UK/US
Battery Operated Lights - optional

If you are working in a setting, involve the families and ask them to bring in empty, cleaned out plastic drinking bottles. The children will enjoy bringing items in from home. Alternatively they could bring in an unopened water bottle to use as part of a party day party food drink table perhaps?

If you are planning this as part of a party - why not take the children to the shop to go and buy some drinks together? Whichever angle you are going for - take your plastic bottle and get ready to wrap it up with gauze.

Begin by taking the end of the gauze and gluing it to the bottle to help secure it in place. Start to wrap the bottle, making sure that it is all covered up.

This is a great task to get little hands working and exercise hand eye co-ordination.

Using your scissors trim away the leftover gauze if need be. You can tuck the end of your gauze into the gauze on your water bottle. You may want to use a safety pin to secure it in place or if you have a hot glue gun that would also do the job. Remember that glue guns are to be used by a responsible adult only.

Take your googly eyes and stick them down using either PVA glue or a glue stick. If you don't have googly eyes you could draw them on paper to add to your bottle.

Cut out a mouth using the black paper. Once you have cut one out, glue it onto your water bottle.

Add on a plastic spider if you wish. Ta-Da! You now have Spooky Water Bottles. They make the perfect beverage to serve at your Halloween Party! A great craft to enjoy with the little ones and use them as decorations. Why not add a battery operated tea light and use them to light up an activity set up or a spooky walk in the garden.
