Throughout the year the Space topic creeps in here and there. Whether its something that has been seen on the television, a late night walk under the stars or a book we read - the interest ignites. We often enjoy some Space Sensory Tray activities. Today I am sharing with you a Space Rocket Craft which comes with some free templates for you to download and use. The link to download is at the bottom of the page.
You will need:
Coloured Card/Paper
Pencil
Scissors
Glue Stick
You can either do free hand drawing or use the template that is available to download at the bottom of this post. Print and cut out the shapes from the template. Use your cut outs to recreate the shapes onto coloured paper to use. You could also print directly onto coloured paper to save recreating the shapes again which would be easier for younger children.
Use scissors to cut out the traced shapes from the coloured craft paper. Once your shapes are all cut out its time to create the rocket.
Perhaps you could create a rocket ahead of the activity for the children to have a go at copying. They make even event their very own.
Remember to add any other crafty materials such as stickers, glitter, pens and so on so children can really get stuck in and create their own masterpieces.
A lovely book that would accompany this craft is - How to Catch a Star.
Have you joined our Learning Through Play GROUP yet? Its the place you can be inspired by other like minded people and share your photos to inspire too! We have everything being shared from Outdoor Areas, Tuff Trays, Dens, Literacy set ups, Funky Fingers and endless crafts!
