Perran Sands Cornwall Review

Perran Sands Cornwall Haven Review

We recently booked our second sun holiday after being really impressed with our first stay with Sun Holidays in the Lake District.
This time we decided to venture to Cornwall, Perran Sands. We had another great stay here and it's a place we would definitely return to and highly recommend to others.

With close to 1000 caravans on site the facilities are impressive. All you could want/need in fact. Check out their beach houses - they look amazing!!

Swimming pools, arcades, bars, shops and restaurants. Nature pools, sand dunes, playgrounds and sports pitches - there is something for everyone and plenty of space to enjoy the facilities.

During our stay we ate at the SurfBay Bar - food was outstanding and the service was great. We got talking to a staff member here about the local area who informed us of some must see places while we were there - including St Ives and Lands End. I was impressed at their local knowledge (even though some of them are not from around the area) and how approachable they were.
They have a Camper Van inside that you can climb into and eat inside if you wish! It kept my daughter entertained who spent time 'pretending to drive'.

There is plenty to enjoy in the Arcade including a free to play soft play area with designated play bays for under 3 too.
The security on site did a brilliant job, very friendly and helpful. They rushed to my aid a couple of times as they saw me coming with a big double buggy taking the time to hold doors open and ask how my holiday was going. This meant a lot to me. Getting about with 3 children so young can be tricky at times so when people go out their way to help make your life a little easier it really does go a long way!

The entertainment on the night was great fun too! An excellent variety for all the family and the blue coats were fantastic with the children. My daughter in particular loved getting dressed up for the shows and spent the night dancing on the dance floor.

There is a beach pretty close by - 10 minute walk to the beach view however it's not the most accessible beach I have been to.
We did venture down onto it but after our trip to to St Ives I would highly recommend there over the local Perranporth Beach.

To access the local beach the pathways are extremely extremely steep. My daughter was bouncing around excitedly with her bucket and spade so we decided to accept the challenge and took to the slopes on the cliff face. The pathways are tarmac so it's a smooth push if you have a buggy or wheelchair. However once you get to the bottom some large rocks (too large to move) have washed up and sit at the bottom of the path. We had to get the muscles out and lift the buggy 2 foot into the air to get onto the sand.

We had a good hour on the beach - it was a very foggy, windy day. The sea was rather mesmerising as it was so rough! The breakers crashed onto the shores with force.
Getting back up the (what seemed to be) vertical slopes with a double buggy and a tired 4 year old was a workout and a half. We did it though and survived to tell the tale.
Honestly though, load the car and get yourself to St Ives! We share our photos and must see spots in a post so be sure to check that out.

We also made the most out of an onsite Papa Johns delivery service - straight to the caravan! It was great while we were all getting ready!! Even the delivery man was checking how our holiday was going.

From start to finish all our experiences whether it be with the staff or on site facilities would get a 5 star rating from us! We hope to go back again very soon!
