While we have been busy with lots of our craft bits out Little N came up with her very own activity which was no only good for concentration but hand eye co-ordination and fine motor skills.
Caterpillars and Butterfly crafts have been popular in our house lately and I am loving all the colours the crafts and activities have given!
You will need:
Beads (as pictured above)
Pipe Cleaners
Googly Eyes
PVA Glue
Tie a little knot in the end of your pipe cleaner so your beads will hold in place. Start threading the beads on the pipes. You could set your children the challenge of creating patterns too!
Little N was fixated on this activity and spent a good while threading the beads onto the pipe cleaners. Who would have thought that something so simple could be so addictive and enjoyable?
I couldn't resist having a little go myself and made one based on The Very Hungry Caterpillar!
We folded the end of the pipe cleaners round to hold the beads on the other side too and popped on some googly eyes to finish them off!
They look pretty good - wouldn't you agree?
We are yet to find any caterpillars in the garden or whilst out and about on our travels.
I am hoping that we find some real soon while Little N is still so interested in them!
I wonder where our next arts and crafts session will lead us?
Will we add to our fun collection of butterfly and caterpillar crafts or will it be something different?
If you have been busy creating fun crafts - be sure to take a photo and come and share it with us! We always love to see what you have been up to!!
