Dinosaur Playdough Party Favours

Are you hosting a party and love creating and making things that are DIFFERENT? If you answered yes - you are in the right place!

We recently celebrated my daughters 3rd Birthday and for the party favours I decided to do something a little different. ALL of the boys that were attending had something in common - they LOVE dinosaurs! So I got thinking about what I could put together for them.

Something FUN, cute and that linked in with their interests.

Dinosaur Playdough Party Favours it was and I can't tell you how much I was in my element putting them together!

I started by looking for suitable airtight containers. I found these in Home Bargains (a shop in the UK). They were perfect!

I designed some tags to attach to the boxes. If you want a copy of the orange tags I made drop your email on the bottom of this post and I will send them over to you!

We created several batches of playdough, all different colours and we added glitter to some of them to create a different texture and sensory experience. We purchased the super cute Dinosaur Playdough Cutters here and matching Polka Dot Ribbon here.

I rolled the playdough into balls and had 6 different colours in each box. I used the ribbon to attach the cutters and secured them by adding a little tape at the back. I stuck on the tags and they were good to go!

The little ones LOVED it when I handed them their boxes as they were leaving the party!! I had some lovely photos sent to me too by the parents - of the little ones getting stuck in back at home making 'birthday cakes' 'scary dinosaurs' and 'rainbows' out of their playdough. The children explored the textures and colour mixing too!

There are so many different playdough recipes you could try too! You can add different colours, scents, textures and you could even add different materials to the boxes for children to use in their creations.

Remember that not all playdough recipes are safe for younger children. There are edible options but if you choose to create using salt make sure you tell all the parents the contents of the playdough. The children may also have allergies that you may need to take into consideration. You could always set about making a recipe card to pop into the box so parents know how the playdough has been made! They may want to use it in the future to create their own batches too!

We also made some playdough party favours for the girls attending the party along with some edible treat bags!
