Frozen Oobleck Sensory Play

Summer..... Hello?! Where were you?! If you reside in the UK you will know exactly what I am talking about....... Our Summer this year, or should I say the lack of it!?
Autumn on the other hand has been a joy so far with lots of lovely bright sunny days with cloudless skies!! I do love these days!
We are making the most of the weather and have taken another delightful sensory play set up outdoors to enjoy!
Today I am sharing with you how to make your very own Frozen Oobleck!

It's the first time we have done this activity here and I can't believe I haven't tried it before now!

You will need:
Cornflour
Water
Jug (something with a spout to make it easier to pour out.)
Ice cube trays / Jelly containers
Glitter (optional)
Food Colouring / Liquid Water colours

Mix your cornflour, water and food colouring/ liquid water colours together to get your desired consistency. Really mix together the ingredients to make sure all of the cornflour has fully dissolves and isn't stuck in clumps around the base of your jug.
Once the consistency is right and you are happy with the colour, start filling your ice cube trays and your jelly molds. You will find the spout of the jug really useful! Pop it into the freezer for several hours (we left ours overnight).
When it is completely Frozen, prize the Frozen Oobleck out of the moulds and into a container. Keep in mind that the food colouring/ liquid food colouring may stain clothes and surfaces, so be sure to use suitable ones just in case.
Let the fun begin!
Why not use more than one colour and have a go at colour mixing once the Oobleck has started melting?
