Rays Farm Days out with the Kids

I am so fed up of visiting the same old places so today we decided to go somewhere totally new to us!
As part of our Days out with the Kids Tried and Tested series I am here today to share our experience at Rays Farm. Rays Farm is a children's farm situated in Bridgenorth that is family owned and has been running for just over 25 years!
It was pretty easy to find. Although we had our sat nav on there were plenty of signs around to lead you there.
One thing I really liked about this farm was how they allow you to feed the animals. Animal feed is priced at an additional £2 for a small bag. You can purchase this at the reception and in the gift shop. Green ticks by the pens indicate which animals can be fed, most of them could be which was great. This was definitely a highlight for our two year old! She loves being hands on!
The animals are very well cared for and are brilliant around people! As soon as they spotted you walking around with your food bag, they came bounding over.
They have a very large woodland area. There is a brook running through the bottom of the woods. It's rather shallow in parts so taking your childrens wellies would be a great idea!
Throughout the woodland are carved wood figures. Little N really enjoyed discovering them all!
The woods isn't flat so isn't suitable for pushchairs.
As we went in the Summer holidays there was a trail throughout the farm (mainly in the woods) to find numbers, once completed you could take your findings to the gift shop to choose a prize.
Great for older children who have the energy to walk all the way around the woods, our two year old did struggle towards the end but did come round when we went back into the farm.
We did have a bite to eat on site and the food was very good! Cakes were delicious!
There is a little gift shop on site selling bits and bobs with a good range of items for the little ones to choose from.

Next to the shop is a 'Craft Barn'. Today there were no crafts on for children as there was a visit from Chelmarch Owl Sanctury. They had brought along with them 12 owls!
The couple behind the Sanctury, which is run from their home, were so friendly and passionate about what they do!
They shared at great lengths (talking to every single visitor) about the Owls in their care.
They encouraged you to pet some of them and were happy for you to hold certain ones.
This was a wonderful addition to our farm visit, although they tour around so aren't based at the farm. Keep their name in mind as you may be able to see them somewhere else!
Next to the Craft Barn was a Play Barn specifically for toddlers where there were various ride-ons.
Our toddler did enjoy this area and with benches outside by the cafe area, its a great opportunity to have a cupa and supervise from a short distance!
There was also a small outdoor park play area and a small indoor soft play area suitable for children under 8 years old.
Little N ran off her last bits of energy in here before hitting the road and falling to sleep all the way home.....
.. now that's when you know its been a good day!
At Rays Farm they have deer, goats, pigs, horses, ponies, alpacas, bunnies, reindeer, turkeys, various ducks, guinea pigs and owls. There were even peacocks floating around here and there. You were able to get up close and personal with the goats and could enter their field to feed and pet them.
As you can see there is plenty of things to see and do here!
