Love Sensory Play? - So do we!!
We are over the moon to welcome Cindy O'Brien back to Learning and Exploring Through Play! Today she is sharing 'Pumpkin Spiced Clean Mud' Sensory Play, her setting have been enjoying.
This is a wonderfully squishy, scented and fun hands on sensory experience!
I have been wanting to try ‘clean mud’ for quite awhile. With the fall season now here and and pretty much everything being pumpkin flavored, I decided to make our Clean Mud a delightful pumpkin spice scent.
This is a great activity because the children can make it by themselves!
My recipe was enough for 6 children.
You will need:
Toilet Paper
Grater
Soap
Water
Food Colouring
Spices (such as Cinnamon)
1. The children began by ripping up 4 rolls of toilet paper. We also grated 2 bars of soap.
They really enjoyed doing this, and they took it in turns really well!
2. Next we added a cup of water with some food colouring.
The children squished and mushed it altogether until it was a good consistency.
3. We sprinkled some cinnamon and other fall spices into the mixture.
The scents quickly filled the air!
Before long the children were making pies, cakes and cookies. The more they squished the better it became.
We all left the table smelling fresh and clean! The clean mud keeps for a long time in a zip lock bag!
I hope to make a Frozen themed minty scented and sparkly blue one in January!
Thank you so much for sharing another great activity Cindy!! We look forward to seeing your Frozen themed clean mud and of course having you back here at Learning and Exploring Through Play very soon!!
Enjoyed this activity?
