I dont know about you but I get pretty fed up of toys! They cost a fortune, they end up in a box stacked away anywhere (and everywhere) or they are sprawled all over the floor and it takes an eternity to sort them all back out put them away neatly before BAM they're back out again!!
I always swore before I have children that once I became a parent my house would be clutter free from toys. Although I think we are pretty organised - yes there are toys in my living room!! Yes there is a minnie mouse scooter in my kitchen and there are teddies and dressing up princess shoes in my bathroom!!
Did you see our Nature Walk post? I am still in love with the image of the suns rays pouring down onto the brown and yellow leaves!! I have it as my backdrop on my laptop at the moment!!
With all the Nature we collected we made some Nature Jars!
We have made lots of Sensory Bottles, especially when Little N was a baby! It's been a while since we made any so Little N enjoyed exploring them!!
I got the jars from a local supermarket, they are completely plastic and water tight so perfect for Sensory Jars!
Jar 1 - Acorns, Conkers, Water, Red/Gold Glitter and Oil
Jar 2 - Red, Yellow and Orange Waterbeads, Water and a mixture of all the different berries we found on our walk.
Jar 3 - Water, Sticks, Leaves, Berries, Acorns, Conkers, Pine Cones
Back to the toys we buy....
I often find that toys that have been made are played with more? When Little N has been involved in the process shes more connected. She talks about how things were put together, where we got things from.
Sometimes we spend a fortune on toys that only get played with for a limited time yet homemade toys may be played with for much longer! Little N still gets the sensory bottles out that I made her when she was a baby, over two years ago!!
