Mess free finger painting is a fun activity for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. I personally love nothing more than watching the little ones getting messy having fun, but sometimes super messy play isn't always ideal.
If you are looking for an interesting spin on finger painting that isn't so messy this is the perfect alternative. Sometimes you are pushed for time or more importantly you may have a child who isn't too happy getting their hands covered in paint.
These kind of activities are a great way to start encouraging children like this to explore different sensations. Although they aren't getting paint all over their hands and experiencing the squelching they are still able to feel how cool the paint it and feel as it oozes around in the bag.
What I really like about this is the interesting marks that you create as you drag your finger tips through the paint in the bag.
To make your own mess free finger paintings you will need:
Zip Lock Bag
Paints
Paper
Tape
1. Cut your paper down to fit the size of the bag and slip it inside.
2. Squirt paint into the bag like pictured above.
TIP - You don't want to over do the amount of paint that you add as it will make the paper too soggy and cause it to break up.
3. Tape down the bag to a flat surface. This will fix it in place and avoid the frustration of it moving around as the finger painting gets under way.
4. Time to get start mess free finger painting!
This was a great activity and one that is very quick to put together. There is no cleaning up needed afterwards and the artwork created is beautiful.
The paint mixes together really well and it feels squelchy on the finger tips as it moves around the bag.
Why not set this up as an invitation to play?
You could also use cars and playdough tools to mark make in the paint.
