Bonfire Night - 5th November
Bonfire Night is also known as Guy Fawkes Night and is an annual commemoration of the Gun Powder Plot in 1605 in Great Britain. Typical celebrations include lighting a bonfire, penny for the guy, fireworks and parties.
Remembrance Day - 11th November
Remembrance Day or Poppy Day falls in the 11th Month on the 11th Day. During the 11th Hour many people can be observed having a few moments of silence to think about the heros - past and present who have fought in wars around the world. The 11th of November at 11am marks the exact end of World War 1 in 1918. The day was known as Armistice Day but was renames after World War 2 to Remembrance Day. Poppy's are sold by the Royal British Legion a charity who help war veterans, people wear them as a mark of respect.
Diwali
Diwali is the Festival of lights that falls between October and November. It marks the beginning of the financial year in India. The festival spiritually signifies the victory of good over evil.
