Percy the Park Keeper After the Storm

Percy the Park Keeper
After the Storm
- the perfect Autumn story

I took Little N to the library this week which was a lovely visit.
Little N loves her books and although we have lots at home, I was on the look out for Autumn themed books.
Sadly there wasn't many (must all be being borrowed at the moment) but I did come across this beautiful book! It took me back to my childhood as these tales have left a lasting impression on me.
I knew Little N would love them too!

Percy and the Park Keeper
After The Storm
Nick Butterworth

Percy the Park Keeper helps his animal friends in this engaging story from highly-regarded, best-selling author-illustrator Nick Butterworth. Includes a fabulous fold-out poster!
A storm is raging outside and Percy the Park Keeper is having a sleepless night. When he gets up the following morning, Percy finds that the old oak tree has been blown down. It is a disaster for his animal friends who live there, but Percy is soon devising a plan to help his little friends find new homes in the best tree house they have ever seen!

It is a perfect story for children of all ages.
It's tale beautifully shows friendship, team work and compassion.
Wonderful for introducing animals such as a badger, fox, mole, hedgehog, squirrel.

Set in a park where Autumn is well and truly in swing makes it great for this time of year!

We visited some local woodland where a tree has blown down.
Little N said "the wind blew tree down, ohh dear" as she recalled the story we have been reading.

She in particular enjoys studying the large poster that folds out in the back of the book.
She enjoys finding all the animals and talking about what each of them are doing - some are hiding, sitting down, on a boat, in a nest, on a swing, whizzing down a slide.

A highly recommended story!
