Autumn Textured Playdough

Today's invitation for play was Autumn Textured Play dough.
I had set this up last night while Little N was sleeping so it was all ready for when she got up.
I had gathered up bits we had collected on our Autumn walks, along with a few other textured items which were your typical Autumn colours.

Little N began by picking up one of these lovely imprinting tools that I purchased from Early Learning Centre. There are 4 different designs for £5. They are very effective and great for small hands!

I had put several shape cutters out today too. Little N is very interested in shapes and colours at the moment so I added several shaped cutters to this activity to support her interest.

After pushing the cutters into the dough she was then distracted by the black tray in front of her.
"STICKS!" she said, selecting one by one and pushing it down into the play dough.

Her concentration was rigid. "Mommy, look tree's" she said, adding one by one.

She picked up the roller and began to push against the twigs.
"Oh no, twig fall down" she said, putting the roller down to reposition a twig or two.

She then started sprinkling the lentils into her hands before tipping them into the dough.
She looked down at the lentils "Orange" she said with a smile.
"Careful very hot" she said. She picked out another tool "Cut it up" she said as she chopped her way through. She peeled it off the table "there you go Mom" she said. I pretended to eat "mmm that was delicious thank you!"
Handing the dough sprinkled with lentils back to Little N she squished it in her hands.

We did the same again using peas, conkers and shell pasta

While Little N was pushing the materials into the play dough, in front of her I had rolled three small play dough balls. She glanced up and asked for more.
After making a few more and placing them down on the table Little N pointed to them and said "EGG'S, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7!"
