How the Grinch Stole Christmas - US/UK is a much loved movie in most house holds. The book is just as great! In my experience of working with children over the last decade - once you share the delight of this tale with them they are hooked. Just, as adults become too. Today I am sharing with you such a lovely craft that the children would have lots of fun making! Hang them up on the trees in your setting/home or pop them in some clear cellophane bags and gift them.
You will need:
Wood Slices
Green Paint
Paint Brushes
Twine/Ribbon
Scissors
Glue
Paint Pens
Mini Santa Hats
Green Feather Boa
Begin by painting the wood slices green. You will no doubt need to do a few coats of the green as the wood at first will soak some of the colour. Add coats, allowing the paint to dry completely in between until there are no patches showing. It would also be a great idea to protect the surface underneath just in case any drips/spillages happen.
Acrylic paint works great on projects like this. You could then go on to use the paint to design your own Salt Dough Keepsakes.
Grab a pencil to start drawing the face onto your wood slices. If you make an error you can use an eraser to gently remove any marks you want to change. Once you are happy paint your yellow eyes and hearts onto the slices.
Add all the definition on the faces by using a paint based pen. Paint based pens are also great to use on making your own story stones.
Then to add the accessories to bring this ornament to it's finished state and add to the Christmas tree. Spread your glue and add your feather boa and dinky Christmas hats. With a loop of string they are ready to hand up on the tree!
So cute! They would make fabulous gifts too! A lovely craft to make off the back of reading How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
