Popsicle Christmas Tree Craft

Popsicle Christmas Tree Craft

Christmas crafting is in full swing here at Learning and Exploring Through Play. It's a great excuse to overuse the glitter and all the sparkly jewels and pom poms you have stashed away in your craft draws! Did you see the Peg Snowflakes we recently shared?

Today I am sharing with you a lovely craft that is suitable for even the youngest of children. Just make sure the materials you are using are suitable for the age and stage of the children in your care. This was a craft I did with my 5 year old daughter. You could consider using edible paints, ripped paper, pipe cleaners for example if you are crafting with younger children.

Another great craft where there needs to be no set outcome. Children can create and add as much or as little as they like. Before long these decorations come together and look beautiful! We will be adding ours to our Christmas tree! On another note - how on earth are we almost at Christmas Tree decorating season? This year has gone super fast!

I would always advise an adult using a glue gun. I am so careful and even I have suffered burns from a glue gun so the risk just isn't worth it. They are not suitable for children so don't be tempted to allow them the opportunity to use one. You can prepare the sticks ahead of the craft invitation using a glue gun OR you could give children the opportunity to glue them together with PVA glue.

Coat the sticks in lots of PVA glue and enjoy decorating. Give children the freedom to decorate as they wish. Neve did a fabulous job and I can't wait to hang them up! Nanny has already said she wants one too so Neve wants to make some more to give away to Nanny and some of her friends at school!

Lets take a look at the party in action:
