Mark Making with Kinetic Sand

Mark Making with Kinetic Sand

Have you had the pleasure of experiencing Kinetic Sand? We just love the stuff here and play with it on a regular basis. In fact the children can't get it out without me being drawn to it too! I find the sand is rather mesmerising, calming and quite fascinating. The sand is squeezable, mould-able, never dries out and doesn't stick to your hands! Today we have been using some different tools with the sand as opposed to the usual moulds we use.

My daughter asked for the sand to come out, but today I had a little suprize for her! We have had some of the most fabulous mark making materials delivered and I was rather excited to share them with her to play with in the sand. (If you follow us over on Instagram - @learningthroughplay8, you may have seen our live feed of her playing with them).

She emptied the sand into the container and I placed it on top of a lap tray. Not only to help contain the sand but somewhere I could place all the wonderful tools around the edges!

The tools were from Early Years Resources. This Rock and Roll Mark Making Kit is not only superb quality its available at excellent value! With 12 rollers in total this kit offers children the experience of exploring and making patterns, in a range of materials! Not only do these work amazing in paint - they work a treat with Kinetic Sand too!

The stampers have a range of patterns waiting to be indented. They are the perfect size for little hands as well as bigger hands. Their chunky handles make them great for younger children to grasp with ease!

You can pick up the Kinetic Sand, squeeze it together to form a structure and drop it down into the tray and watch it all fall apart! It sticks to itself so it completely falls from your hands and leaves no traces!

The rollers are very sturdy and are quite addictive to keep rolling back and forth. I watched my daughter rolling them across a flat surface and just watching the pattern moving around. They worked great in the sand! I am looking forward to seeing how well they work in the paint too!

From the set - four of them are different animal prints. Can your children identify which animals they belong to?

These stampers are great to add to the creation station, sand pits, in the mud, use them in animal topics, exploring patterns or simply just for fun!

How would you use them?

We received a Rock and Roll Mark Making to share our thoughts on this product with you. All opinions are 100% mine. A big thank you to Early Years Resources for sharing such a fabulous product with us!
