Pancake Day, also known as Shrove Tuesday is celebrated annually between 3rd February and 2nd March - before Ash Wednesday. It always falls 47 days after Easter.
It's the one day where we can throw food around in the kitchen and its totally acceptable! What are your flipping skills like?

We are so thrilled to welcome Sue Baxter today who is sharing her fabulous Pancake Day Tuff Tray she has set up for the children.
Sue is an outstanding childminder (third time in a row - way to go Sue), who lives in Surrey:
I have been a childminder for 15 years and working with children for over 20 years. I love nothing more than providing stimulating, fun, hands on play activities for the children. We use Tuff Trays daily. They are great for setting up activities and keeping contents contained. I love that they can be easily transported and you can set them at the perfect height for children with the adjustable stand.
We have been having so much fun with our pancake play. It really is such a rewarding job being able to provide activities like this and see the enjoyment the children get from it! We are all very excited for Pancake Day to arrive so we can make them and enjoy tasting them!

I had some fabulous pancakes handmade for me from Made to Measure. It was a custom order and I was thrilled when they landed. I had letters and numbers stitched on the back of them. You could have a go at making some of them yourself using brown paper or felt.
Inside a grilling pan I added some battery operated tealights underneath some red cellophane. This was a big hit with the children. They loved 'cooking their pancakes'. This was also a great talking point for keeping ourselves safe in the kitchen.
I printed off some cards from Twinkl that I added to the tray. (Twinkle have some fabulous resources for Pancake Day - be sure to check them out!)
I also added some Pancake themed books to the Tuff Tray. These included:
