Leaf Christmas Tree Craft

Christmas Crafts using Nature. Leaf Christmas Trees. Christmas Activities for Preschool.

We have been busy enjoying some Christmas themed arts and crafts! This time of year is simply the best for crafting!! So much to do and so much magic about! Today I am going to share with you some super cute Leaf Christmas Tree's Little N has been busy decorating!!

We go for walks regularly in our household and Little N is always busy collecting twigs, leaves, pebbles, pine cones you name it!! It drives her Dad crazy how there is always a collection of Nature treasures stashed proudly in the porch, however I just love how excited she pleased she gets with herself bringing them home!!

We have been using them in our crafting where we can and today is where the leaves came in useful!!

You will need:
Leaves (some are better than others. I would advise using the ones we collected in this post as they don't dry out and go crispy very easily!)
Scissors
Crafty Bits - such as sequins, pom poms, pony beads, shiny paper, tissue paper, glitter (anything you fancy)
PVA

I started by very quickly cutting some tree shapes out in the leaves. If you have older children who have developed good scissor control, they may enjoy cutting them out.
I don't know if you have ever cut leaves up before but these ones are pretty pleasing to cut. Not only that but they do give out a lovely aroma too (great for the senses)! Little N enjoyed cutting some of the leaves up beside me.

Once they were cut out it was time to decorate them.
Out came the PVA glue and the sparkly glitters and sequins were added to the trees.

We left them to dry and loved the outcome!!

You could use your tree's to create pretty garlands or why not stick them to the front of some Christmas Cards? Handmade Christmas Cards are the best!! Did you see the Snowman Card we made?

On a serious note though....
How on earth has this year flown so quickly? This year my identical twin boys landed in June. I did think perhaps the count down to their arrival, them landing and life being pretty busy now meant this was the reason 2016 had gone particularly fast for us as a family, however everybody seems to be saying it!!
