My Little Pony Small World Shoe Box

You may have recently seen a post from us where we created a Frozen Inspired Small World using a shoe box. Little N really enjoyed the set up and spent much longer than I thought she would playing independently, imagining and acting our various stories, both in her head and out loud.

On occasions she also invited me and her Dad over to play. She enjoyed telling us all about the characters and what they were busy doing. She also watched and listened attentively as me and her Dad created stories between the characters. She went on to use some of them in her play too.
Another interest of my Little one is My Little Pony so I went on to create another Small World for her seeing as the Frozen Small World was such a hit.
The backdrop of the box was already painted blue so that was going to work for this theme too.
I went on good old google and searched for some rainbow clipart. I always love discovering new sites to use, I found one called 'My Cute Graphics'. Laura who runs the site has been creating super cute clip art since 2006. There are literally HUNDREDS of images and the site is used by teachers world wide! You do have to be cautious of copyright when using images online but My Cute Graphics offers free clipart. I got the rainbows from here. I have saved this site to my favourites to use again in the future.
I printed the rainbows off and reduced them in size so they would be a good fit in the small shoe box.
I laminated them to make them more hard wearing and used blue tac mounds on the base of the shoe box to secure them down.
I even added a sprinkle of colourful glitter!
How simple?
I again left the set up on the side as I did for the Frozen Inspired Small World and she was over the moon as she saw all her Little Pony's amongst the clouds and rainbows!!
You can buy the small Little Pony characters from most of the major toy and supermarket retails. We have brought ours from Toys R Us and in the suprize bags from Asda.
Now to think of more small worlds to make!? Do you have a suggestion for us? Would love to hear from you so get in touch!!
